Phoventus was engaged by a confidential client to provide engineering support in the remediation of a 20MW Solar Project near Bakersfield, California. The project experienced several fire incidents due to faults within the inverters.
Phoventus reviewed a solution comprising of installing additional protective features in the Inverter Failure project. It also evaluated its adequacy in preventing future incidents and assessed its compliance with the California Electrical Code. Phoventus identified a scenario where the proposed solution would fail and recommended remedial actions to alleviate the issue.
