Solar Inverter Failure
Phoventus was engaged by a confidential client to provide engineering support in the remediation of a 20MW Solar Project near Bakersfield, California. The project experienced several fire incidents, including solar inverter failure. The causes of the incident were faults within the inverters.
Phoventus reviewed a solution comprising of installing additional protective features in the project. The adequacy of the protective features evaluated in preventing future incidents. It also assessed its compliance with the California Electrical Code.
Moreover, Phoventus identified a scenario where the proposed solution would fail. Furthermore, it recommended remedial actions to alleviate the issue.
