The “FPL EVolution Hub” project is comprised of two segments: a combination of 7.25 MW storage and 5 MW solar PV forming a sustainable microgrid, and a pair of trailers, each equipped with 0.65 MW (totaling 1.3 MW) of storage along with 6 fast chargers for electric vehicles (a total of 12 chargers). This microgrid is intended to facilitate the charging of the trailers, strategically positioned across FPL’s region during grid-related incidents, thereby bolstering the resilience of EV charging operations.
Phoventus was responsible for reviewing the design submittals and power quality studies provided by EPC at the 90% design completion stage with respect to design objectives, operational requirements, code compliance, asset lifecycle performance optimization, and standard engineering practice.
