Phoventus provided three services to the client: single point of failure analysis, critical spare parts list, and QA/QC electrical review.
The single point of failure analysis involved desktop assessments to determine how each element or combination of elements could contribute to system failure in meeting contractual obligations, health and safety requirements, and performance expectations. Phoventus reviewed the consistency of various elements including BOS Arrangement, Design BESS, Civil, MV Electrical, Grounding System, HV Substation, and SCADA & Telemetry.
Phoventus provided a list of critical spare parts associated with the single point of failure analysis. They completed a proprietary Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) as needed to account for spare part availability and supply chain risk.
In the QA/QC electrical review, Phoventus conducted a comprehensive review of the systems and protections related to the electrical delivery systems. The objective was to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the electrical system. Phoventus’ team of experts undertook a thorough analysis of overall system integrity studies, scrutinized short-circuit, load flow, arc flash, and transient overvoltage studies, and compared them with applicable drawings to ensure compliance with the design and best practices. The main focus was on the substation and subsystems related to protections and controls, relays, relay settings, and general switchgear arrangement. Phoventus also evaluated issues associated with MV circuits up to the inverter during a review of the SLD and related drawings, as applicable.
