Quality in motion: Our Engineering team just completed a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) in Brazil.
Our Engineering team traveled to Brazil for five weeks, at the client’s request, to conduct a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) inspection on four 110 MVA, 243/34.5 kV high-voltage transformers.
Scope of inspection included:
Visual & mechanical verification
- Coating thickness and adherence
- Build quality, materials, and labeling
- Wiring, panel layout, and assembly
Functional & performance testing
- Control systems, relay settings, alarms
- Load testing, losses, and efficiency
- Current transformers, lightning impulse
- Insulation resistance, power factor, capacitance, applied voltage
Safety & documentation
- TRIP operation signals and interlocks
- Schematic and mechanical drawings
- Compliance with CSA, IEEE, UL, and other applicable standards
